Important Information and Dates

1. Please read the handbook that corresponds with the animal project you would like to raise and the rules and regulations page. You must have the signature page signed before you can raise any project.

2. Deadline for deposits on animals

Pigs - Oct. 1, 2008 you must have at least 500.00 given to the Ag. Dept. by this date. The rest of the amount will be due by the time the pigs arrive at the barn. If you are wanting to show at any major show you need to contact one of the ag teachers and let them know how much you want to spend.

Lamb and Goats - You need to tell us the amount you would like to spend at the project meeting and have it paid by Sept. 15, 2008.  Lambs have a minimum of $750 and goats $550.

Chickens - Oct. 1, 2008 must have at least $55.00 paid to the Ag. Dept. This is just for 50 birds if you would like more you must pay for those by this date also.

Rabbits - If you are raising rabbits you will be responsible for paying the breeding the amount that you agree to on the date that we go pick up your rabbits.

3. Barn Fee Deadline

If you are raising an animal project at the barn you need to have your barn fee paid by Oct. 1. This will allow us to know exactly how many pens we will need. If your animal is already at the barn you need to have your barn fees paid ASAP.

4. Tag In Dates

Please be aware that for our County and Major Shows (Ft. worth, San Antonio, Houston) we have to tag those animals in on certain days. A parent must be there to sign forms and for county you must have a picture with the student and that animal. Please make sure you have your pictures taken before the day of the tag in. Oct. 9 Lamb Tag-In County

Oct. 16 Goat Tag- In County

Oct. 28 Lamb and Goat Tag-In Major Shows

Nov. 17 Rabbit Intent to Show forms due (we will hand these out closer to date)

Nov. 25 Pig Tag-In Major Shows

Dec. 4 Pig Tag-In County
